Profile

Carol's creative passion is to explore outdoor places and capture images that evoke the feelings she experiences while visiting a location. It could be the quiet charm of a sidewalk cafe in a small French village or the solitude of a fishing dock and house built right up against a rock cliff in Newfoundland. Wherever Carol visits, each place initiates a feeling.

Carol is a native of Etobicoke, which is in the west end of Toronto, Canada. She was introduced to photography while studying urban geography at the University of Toronto. She quickly discovered she had a good eye. After working in the corporate world for several years, Carol decided to pursue her dream of exhibiting and selling her decorative art photographs.

Up until four years ago, Carol was shooting with a 35mm film camera. She has since embraced digital photography. She makes minimal computer adjustments to her images, so her decorative art photographs are as true and pure to the original places as possible.

What makes you joyful? For Carol, it's being outdoors, in Toronto or beyond, and exploring a particular place when the light is just right. The famous Canadian artist Emily Carr wrote that she endeavored to "express her findings" with her painting. The same is true for Carol and photography.
